Thomas brings 25 years of hands-on construction experience spanning field operations, project management, preconstruction, and construction technology, with deep expertise in MEP and specialty contracting across electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical scopes. He has supervised multi-trade field operations on large commercial projects, managed compliance and closeout documentation across multiple concurrent jobs, and coordinated BIM workflows where MEP systems meet structural and architectural reality — the ground-level work where documentation breaks down, compliance gaps open up, and administrative overhead compounds.

That operational depth is paired with a founding role in the construction AI space. Thomas served as a founding subject matter expert at two venture-backed construction AI platforms focused on drawing recognition, automated takeoff, and cost intelligence — contributing domain expertise during model training and early product development before AI tooling became mainstream in the industry. He was one of the practitioners who helped those systems understand what field-accurate data actually looks like.

At DataStudios, Thomas works with MEP and specialty contractors to identify where agentic automation can eliminate documentation overhead, reduce compliance risk, and redirect field capacity toward margin-producing work.
